What exactly is this?
HowWeSeeMe is a private tool that compares two descriptions of the same person — one written by that person, one written by someone who knows them — and finds where they diverge. It's designed to surface the gap between how you see yourself and how you come across to others.
Do I need an account to participate?
Only the person creating the mirror needs an account (so they can come back to unlock the analysis). The person they invite just opens the link — no account needed.
Can the other person see what I wrote before they submit?
No. Your self-description stays hidden until after they submit theirs. This is intentional — their view needs to be independent, not shaped by what you said.
Who can see my mirror?
Only you and the person you invited. The analysis, both descriptions, and the results are not visible to anyone else. We don't share or sell your data.
What does the analysis actually look like?
The analysis identifies: where the outside view diverges from your self-view, what the outside view is missing or undervaluing, what comes through to others despite you not leading with it, where both pictures agree, what the overall gap reveals, and a specific question to sit with. What's the AI's role? Is it just a chatbot?
The AI is doing something specific: finding the structural gap between two accounts of the same person and naming what that gap means. It's not a chatbot and it's not generating generic advice. It's working from your actual words and theirs, and what it finds is only as interesting as what you both wrote.
Can I use this with a romantic partner?
Yes. Many people find it most useful with a partner, close friend, or sibling — someone who has actually seen them over time. The results tend to be most meaningful when the relationship is real and the other person writes honestly.
What happens if the descriptions are too short?
The AI will note in the analysis that there wasn't enough to work with. You'll get better results if both descriptions are specific and detailed — a paragraph or two at minimum.
Can I start more than one mirror?
Yes. Each mirror is a separate session with a separate person. You can run as many as you want from your dashboard.
Can I delete my mirror?
Yes. You can delete any mirror from your dashboard. This removes all the descriptions and the analysis permanently.
